Tourism, the main economic factor in the Canary Islands, obviously fundamentally needs to have a sufficient number of beaches in an appropriate state of readiness to ensure its development and stability. Unfortunately, even though it is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean and enjoys an enviable climate, the island does not have sufficient stable beaches. Beaches only account for 4% of its coastline, while this figure reaches 80% in Andalusia.
PUERTO RICO S.A., aware of this pressing need, undertook to promote artificial beaches and has made a huge economic effort and overcome the infinitive administrative procedures. The PUERTO RICO and AMADORES beaches are the result of this hard work. They are now in use and are described below:
